The 4 Year Old Perspective

My dad passed away yesterday. We knew it would happen but it was still a shock to the system when it came down to it.

We found out as we were getting ready to go out to Anacortes to visit him. We went to my brother's then out to his house where hospice had been set up. On our way we stopped at a Mc Donald's; Josh wanted to play on the toys and was delighted by the lunch treat.

I found it refreshing that eventhough he knew what was going on, and dare I say, comprehended his grandfather's death, he still found joy at the McDonald's playground.

While waiting at the pediatrician Josh requested his picture taken with Ev. Why is it that at home your kids are "so sick" then once you get to the Doc, they're all of a sudden perky. Makes me look like one of "those" moms.
